Honoring our Veterans

 

To mark the coming Veterans Day holiday, Volans-i would like to honor those who’ve served our great Nation. We are proud to recognize the brave individuals who have dedicated their lives to ensuring our safety and protecting our country.

Volans-i would like to show our veterans how proud we are to recognize them on this special day and to show our great respect for all men and women serving in uniform—those currently active, those retired, and those who never come home.

We also would like to take a moment and honor our very own brave employees who have continue working on missions every day.

Meet our Veterans!

 

Eric Osmundson:

 

Dates Served: September 2010 – 2015

Military Branch: U.S. Marine Corps

Location: San Diego, CA – Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

Position: Squad Leader

Countries Occupied: Norway, Romania, Bulgaria.

Eric’s grandfather served in WWII – which inspired Eric to follow his footsteps and serve his country. Eric was stationed in Banger, WA in charge of recapturing and recovering strategic assets before being promoted to squad leader.

 

Matt Mason:

 

Dates Served: September 2007 – 2015

Military Branch: U.S. Marine Corps

Location: Cherry Point, NC; San Diego, CA

Position: Started as CH46E Avionics, quality assurance and lastly crew chief

Countries Occupied: Primarily served on Navy ships

Matt’s grandfather served in the Marine Corps. After graduating college at West Virginia University, Matt enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served for 8 years aboard various Navy ships. Matt finished his service in 2015 and returned to complete his BA degree in Aeronautical Science at Embry Riddle or Prescott, AZ. Matt also has a commercial pilot’s license with over 500 hours of flight time.

 

Lloyd Howden:

 

Dates Served: Joined 1994 – 2000

Military Branch: U.S. Army

Location: Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Camp Humphreys, South Korea.

Position: Crew Chief

Countries Occupied: Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, UAE, Egypt, Netherlands, UK.

Reason for Joining: Both Lloyd’s father and grandfather served in the U.S. Military which naturally led Lloyd to continue in their steps. Lloyd spent most of his childhood growing up on military bases. Lloyd’s eldest son, also recently joined the U.S. Army.

 

Mitchell McGary:

 

Dates Served: March 2011 – March 2016 (Total 5 years)

Military Branch: U.S. Air Force

Location: Okinawa Japan, Albuquerque NM

Position: Aerospace Pulpration Journey Man / Aerospace Pulpration Technician / Flying Crew Chief

Countries Occupied: Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Reason for Joining: Joined the U.S. Air Force while still attending college. Responsible for diagnosing planes for malfunctions. Upon completion of his service, Mitch returned to complete his studies at Embry Riddle in Prescott, AZ.

 

Amanda Kilgore:

 

Dates Served: July 2006 – February 2012

Military Branch: U.S. Airforce

Location: Fort Meade Maryland

Position: Signals Intelligence Analyst

Countries Occupied: United States

Reason for Joining: Amanda came from a military background – with both parents who served in the U.S. Airforce. Amanda joined after 9/11 to perform her civic duty in protecting and serving the country. During her time at the force Amanda served as Signals Collection Analyst, providing combat search and rescue support.
